The extension operates entirely locally on your device. We have no servers that receive or store your data.

2. How the Extension Works

When you use AI Rewrite Paragraph:

Selected text is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API for processing
Your API key is stored locally in Chrome's storage on your device
Rewrite history is stored locally on your device (optional feature)

3. Third-Party Services

This extension uses the Anthropic Claude API to process text rewrites. When you submit text for rewriting:

The text is sent directly to Anthropic's servers
Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data: anthropic.com/privacy
We do not have access to this data or any intermediate servers

4. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

Settings: Your preferences (default mode, history settings)
API Key: Your Anthropic API key (stored securely in local storage)
History: Recent rewrites (optional, can be disabled or cleared)

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to use the rewrite feature.

5. Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

contextMenus: To add rewrite options to your right-click menu
activeTab: To read text you've selected for rewriting
storage: To save your settings and history locally
clipboardWrite: To copy rewritten text to your clipboard
scripting: To display the result overlay on web pages

6. No Tracking

We do not use:

Analytics or tracking scripts
Cookies for tracking purposes
Any form of user identification
Advertising networks

7. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data. The only data transmission is between your browser and Anthropic's API when you request a rewrite.

8. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

Clear your rewrite history at any time from the extension settings
Remove your API key at any time
Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data

9. Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
